Overview:
The profession of pharmacy is significant and its role in uplifting the health system is acknowledged all over the world. Pharmacists are gaining demand in the field day by day as now the profession of pharmacy is considered a “Life Saving Profession”. In Pakistan, this profession also gaining recognition as the emergence of new diseases, advanced technology, new and updated delivery systems, and personalized medicine has created more need for the pharmacist.

It is a very challenging as well as exciting and rewarding profession. Students or future pharmacists joining “Mukabbir College of Pharmacy” are to accept the challenges that the professional field has brought to and will continue to achieve their density. It will be an exciting journey for the passions, beliefs, and enthusiasm of those who will embark on a satisfying and challenging career.

The Degree Program:
Doctor of Pharmacy programs prepare students to become skilled pharmacists capable of providing expert pharmaceutical care. With this program, students gain scientific knowledge as well as practical clinical skills that enable them to serve in a crucial role in the healthcare field.

It’s typically a five-year degree program, students are introduced to a variety of subjects such as pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, clinical pharmacy, and healthcare ethics. The curriculum includes classroom learning, laboratory work, and extensive hands-on clinical experiences.

Scope for the Future of Pharmacy:
Pharm-D graduates have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, community pharmacies, clinics, research institutions, and pharmaceutical industries. Some may specialize in areas like clinical pharmacy, ambulatory care, geriatrics, or critical care. In the age of digital healthcare, professionals can work on managing and optimizing medication data within electronic health records and healthcare systems. Becoming educators and professors in colleges of pharmacy, training future pharmacists, and contributing to research and knowledge advancement.
